We will never know if Charles Law had legacy in mind when he opened the doors to the California-based LAW® Printing Company in 1929, but nearly 100 years later his name lives on.
LAW Printing solidified its reputation within the automotive industry in 1967 with the release of the California LAW® 553® Retail Installment Sale contract. When The Reynolds and Reynolds Company acquired LAW Printing in 1994, it took the popular contract to the next level. Working with leading automotive finance law firm Hudson Cook, LLC, Reynolds built upon the California 553’s success by creating Retail Installment Sale Contracts for all 50 states.
The LAW 553 is now the most widely used automotive Retail Installment Sale Contract in the United States. It is:
-
Reviewed regularly to keep pace with changes to federal and state legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as changes in industry best practices.
-
Offered in both print and digital formats.
-
Arbitration and translated versions offered for select states to facilitate transactions and protect dealerships.
-
Accepted by virtually every major financial institution.
-
Used by the majority of dealers across the country.
-
Licensed and programmed by all major DMS and electronic F&I providers.
Consistency and commitment to excellence are the backbone of the LAW 553.
